Our Software Development team is involved in the full development life cycle from requirements analysis, stakeholder management, and software design through to delivery.Role ResponsibilitiesEmbedded device development for Automatic Fare Collection using C++ and embedded Linux and Windows operating systems.Work productively and with minimal management supervision, both as part of a team as well as independently.Working with customers and internal stakeholders to identify and analyse new requirements arising from change requests.Work with systems analysts in problem investigation, analysis, solution determination and associated task estimation.Work collaboratively on requirements, design, implementation, review, test and acceptance following all designated standards and development guidelines.Analyze available frameworks and technical solutions and make justified recommendations to the Engineering Team.Consistently deliver on work, budget, and schedule commitments. Monitors project status and progress.General Duties And ResponsibilitiesComply with Cubic’s Quality Management System.Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organizations.Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures.Other duties as requested.Role RequirementsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.About YouMinimum of 3 years of software engineering development experience.Strong experience with C++.Solid experience with embedded Linux operating system.Solid experience with Windows operating system.Excellent knowledge of git, BitBucket, Jira, Jenkins, CLion and Confluence.Excellent knowledge of building distributed multi-threaded near real-time systems.Excellent networking knowledge.The successful candidate will have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. They will have the ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers, and technical and non-technical persons. Most importantly, they will be a team player whilst still comfortable working autonomously when required.Condition of EmploymentThe successful outcome of a National Police Check.As a global company, our business operations span multiple time zones. This role requires flexibility, including occasional availability outside of your ordinary working hours to respond to critical issues or business needs.
