Bell Textron Australia is a Helicopter Maintenance organisation with facilities in Coffs Harbour, NSW and Redcliffe, QLD. We are seeking an outstanding individual as our full-time Maintenance Manager to lead our technical workforce with a hands-on approach. Location for this position is based within our Coffs Harbour facility on the northern NSW coast.
Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the organisation’s technical workforce and allocating resources to provide high quality maintenance and modification services to Customers. The successful candidate will have experience working in a senior technical leadership role within an aircraft maintenance environment, previously held or can obtain a Responsible Manager post under CASA, demonstrated a strong work ethic to meet and exceed customer expectations, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
The Maintenance Manager has the following responsibilities:
Ensuring the highest possible standard of aircraft maintenance.
Ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with the relevant and current Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, and tasks and duties are accomplished in accordance with Bell Textron Australia Policies and Procedures.
Assist in development and implementation of repair and maintenance procedures; monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
Providing leadership for and knowledge of the full scope of activities carried out by the maintenance organisation including management of the technical workforce.
Meeting the requirements of and hold the post of Responsible Manager as described in the CASA Regulations.
Working with the Quality & Safety Manager to ensure aviation quality, safety, and compliance with a focus on continuous improvement.
Responsible for responding to quality deficiencies in the area of activity for which he/she is responsible, which arise from independent quality audits.
Reviewing and managing aircraft technical work scope prior, during and post maintenance to ensure accuracy prior to induction and while aircraft is undergoing maintenance.
Responsible for availability of sufficient competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and certify the work being performed.
Co-ordinating and providing professional, efficient service and flawless delivery of Customer requirements with a view to exceed their expectations and enhance the Customer experience.
Liaising with the Sales Team and Customers to ensure aircraft requirements are co-ordinated and clearly communicated. Assist the Sales Team preparing estimates and quotations for service work.
Managing resources efficiently to achieve the desired results.
Reviewing engineer training requirements and assist scheduling training requirements for MRO team members.
Manage the performance and development process for the MRO team members.
Holding meetings as required to communicate items such as general communication and resolving issues.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will bring the following to the role:

A minimum of 5 years aircraft maintenance experience, with experience in heavy maintenance and modifications.
Experience and qualifications on light and medium Bell, Airbus and Leonardo models will be well regarded.
Comprehensive knowledge of CASA Part 145 and CAR30 regulations is essential.
Bell Textron Australia also hold other NAA approvals including FAA Repair Station, DGCA Part 145 and CASA PNG Part 145 so relevant knowledge in the regulatory requirements of the NAA will be highly regarded.
Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Superior time management and organisation skills.
Knowledgeable in the use of maintenance software including Quantum Control would be desirable.
Skills in operating in a Microsoft environment including Office, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Identification Card and meet pre-employment DAMP requirements.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is preferred. You must be able to obtain and maintain aviation and other government security clearances that may be required.
