College Recruiter’s podcast creation efforts began in earnest a few years ago when its founder, Steven Rothberg, partnered with Jeff Dickey-Chasins, then the owner of the Job Board Doctor, to launch the Job Board Geek Podcast. Each week, we discussed news and analysis of interest to leaders of job boards globally. That podcast ran for a year until Jeff became too busy with his job board consulting business.

We replaced that podcast with the Inside Job Boards and Recruitment Marketplaces Podcast. Steven was again a cohost, but this time with Peter M. Zollman of the AIM Group. The podcast launched a couple of years ago as a weekly, audio-only until March 2023 when it migrated to biweekly, video, and streamed to LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. Recently, we added back an audio-only version in partnership with podcasting hosting company, WRKdefined.

Also a couple of years ago, we partnered with AMS and Jeanette Leeds to launch the High Volume Hiring Podcast. Again, it was audio-only and weekly and migrated in March 2023 to biweekly, video, and streamed to LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. We also just added back an audio-only version in partnership with WRKdefined.

This week, we’re launching another podcast. This one, called From Dorms to Desks, is targeted at students and other job seekers who are early in their careers. Episodes will be roughly 10 minutes in length and will address various aspects of the job search process that are relevant to this segment of the population.

Our first episode focuses on how to find an entry-level job when employers prefer candidates with experience. We’ll have new episodes each week. All will address issues of interest to candidates who are early in their careers. Some will be of particular interest to those who are Black and African American, LGBTQIA+, first generation, low income, veterans, international students, student-athletes, students with disabilities, neurodiverse, women, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Native American and Indigenous, Latinx, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

Subscribe today at WRKdefined or many of the most popular podcasting platforms. Over the coming days, the podcast will become available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Enjoy!
