Top 50 employers of college students and recent graduates

Lists of the top 10, 25, or 500 anything are often quite objective or subjective but rarely both. They’re either driven by cold, hard facts such as revenues or the number of employees or more gut feelings such as the author’s favorite restaurants or cars.

Today, College Recruiter is unveiling the first in a series of five articles. We use objective and subjective criteria to recognize who we feel are the top 50 employers of college students and recent graduates. To be included in this list, employers need to hire a lot of these early career candidates. And “by a lot”, we’re not talking dozens or even hundreds. All hire thousands and some into the tens of thousands. Yes, that is a lot. But they needed to do more than hire a lot of people. They also needed to be employers of choice for diverse candidates including:

  • BIPOC
  • LGBTQ+
  • First-generation
  • Black and African American
  • Latino
  • Economically disadvantaged
  • Women

To make the top 50 a little more manageable, here are the top 10 employers of college students and recent graduates:

  1. Amazon

    • Why Diverse Candidates Like Them: Amazon is known for its commitment to diversity, believing that it fuels innovation and drives business, offering robust internal support networks for various demographic groups.
  2. Google
    • What They Do: Google is a multinational tech company specializing in internet-related services and products, including online advertising technologies, search engines, cloud computing, and software.
    • Why Diverse Candidates Like Them: Google fosters an inclusive environment that values the unique insights brought by diverse backgrounds and experiences, and also has numerous employee resource groups.
  3. Microsoft
    • What They Do: Microsoft is a technology company renowned for its software products, but it also provides hardware, and has a rapidly growing enterprise and cloud solutions service.
    • Why Diverse Candidates Like Them: Microsoft is committed to a culture of inclusivity, encourages diverse voices, and has numerous diversity and inclusion programs, offering professional development opportunities for all employees.
  4. Apple
    • What They Do: Apple is a multinational technology company that designs, manufactures, and markets consumer electronics, software, and online services.
    • Why Diverse Candidates Like Them: Apple embraces diversity in thought and experience, believing that it spurs innovation, creativity, and expansion, and provides numerous resources to support underrepresented groups.
  5. Facebook (Meta Platforms Inc.)
    • What They Do: Facebook is a leading social media company that also develops technologies to connect people, build communities, and grow businesses.
    • Why Diverse Candidates Like Them: Facebook (Meta) values diversity as it helps in building better products for its global community, and it actively invests in increasing the representation of diverse groups at all levels of the company.
  6. J.P. Morgan
    • What They Do: J.P. Morgan is a global leader in financial services offering solutions to corporations, governments, and institutions in more than 100 countries.
    • Why Diverse Candidates Like Them: J.P. Morgan emphasizes the importance of diversity and inclusion, providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, and has specific programs aimed at nurturing talent from underrepresented groups.
  7. Deloitte
    • What They Do: Deloitte provides audit, consulting, tax, and advisory services to many of the world’s largest organizations, including corporations, governments, and private entities.
