Advice for Employers and Recruiters
GEC Europe College and University Recruiting Conference in Brussels for Global Employers
One of the most significant changes that I’ve seen in just the past few years has been the growth in the number of employers who are coordinating and even centralizing their university relations recruiting functions.
College Recruiter moderated a discussion on this very topic at the National Association of Colleges and Employers annual conference this past June. Panelists were Dan Black, America’s Director of Recruiting for EY; Marci Taylor, Senior Staffing Manager, Global Talent Acquisition for Applied Materials; and Stephanie Pallante, Assistant Vice President, Global College Recruiting for ARAMARK.
The discussion generated so much positive feedback that we knew that we needed to find ways to help our mostly Fortune 1,000 and governmental clients get even better in this area. I’m happy to announce that College Recruiter has partnered with European-based Gradcore, Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), and the European Association for International Education (EMPLOI) to create the Graduate Employment Conference Europe (GEC Europe).
This event will bring together a group of senior graduate recruiters and university employability leaders on the 2nd and 3rd of December at the British Ambassador’s residence in Brussels. A combination of high calibre speakers and focused discussion groups will create an environment in which delegates can discuss key topics around talent acquisition and development at a regional and even global level. The event begins with a dinner on the evening of the 2nd and then a full day conference on the 3rd. Confirmed speakers include representatives from the EU, BNP Paribas, the British Council, and Higher Education Strategy Associates.
The event is limited to 75 places on a first come first served basis, and the only suppliers in attendance will be two sponsors. Full ticket and booking information can be found at http://www.gradcore.co.uk/
For too long there has been no forum for to discuss these topics at a regional and global level. I hope that you or the appropriate member of your team will join me at GEC Europe as it should be an incredibly personally and professionally rewarding event.
November 25, 2016 update — Gradcore, AGR, EMPLOI, and College Recruiter announced today the postponement of the GEC Europe event due to the ongoing terrorism-related security threats in Brussels, Belgium. The four partnering organizations plan to reschedule the event. A new date and perhaps location will likely be announced in early 2016.
