Overview: The Pharmacy Student Intern plays a vital role in supporting the operations of our Health Care organization. This position provides an opportunity for pharmacy students to gain practical experience and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services. The role will work closely with licensed pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.
Assists licensed pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
Performs medication inventory management tasks, including stock rotation and expiration date monitoring.
Collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide patient education on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
Contribute to the maintenance of patient medication profiles and electronic health records.
Support the pharmacy team in conducting medication reconciliation and medication therapy management activities.
Adhere to ALL relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing pharmacy practice.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Must be currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program
EXPERIENCE:Preferred: 1 year of work experience, preferably in a pharmacy related environment
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Student Interns must be registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire date
