POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residential Coordinator (RC) will coordinate and oversee residential services provided to Y-Haven residents during night and weekend shifts. In addition to Residential Monitor duties, the RC will lead the team of 4 Resident Monitors on each shift, providing consultation, direction, crisis intervention, data entry, training, and shift personnel coordination. The RC will lead the Resident Monitor shift team in providing a safe and secure living environment for Y-Haven residents, testing residents for drugs/alcohol, monitoring resident behavior, and performing scheduled medication monitoring. The RC serves as the shift liaison to the Y-Haven Operations Director and is the first point of contact for crises and situations that require coordination and supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide on-board training to new Resident Monitors.
• Consult with Resident Monitors on drug/alcohol testing results.
• Provide consultation and intervention to Resident Monitors during a crisis or situations that require additional supervision.
• Serve as liaison between Resident Monitor staff and other Y-Haven staff (e.g., Director of Operations, On-call clinician).
• Document Urinalysis results in Y-Haven Electronic Medical Record.
• Assist in finding staff to fill in for call-offs. Assign RAs to cover unstaffed floors, as needed.
• Perform scheduled medication monitoring during their shift. Non-scheduled medication monitoring will be done as needed.
• Monitor residents and maintain compliance with rules & regulations (document all infractions).
• Monitor behavior that may indicate drug/alcohol use.
• Administer, observe and interpret urinalysis and breathalyzer testing.
• Provide conflict resolution, help de-escalate resident conflicts.
• Perform regular room and hallway checks, report residents not in facility by curfew.
• Report and record resident incidents/disturbances.
• Maintain certification in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Narcan administration and provide these to residents as needed.
• Monitor and record resident medications.
• Oversee resident/visitor arrivals and departures.
• Answer phone.
• Attend required Y-Haven and YMCA meetings and trainings.
• Offer support to residents by listening to, interacting with, respecting, showing interest in, holding accountable, and caring for each individual.
• Be visibly involved with Y-Haven residents, volunteers, and staff in a positive, friendly manner that communicates and demonstrates the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Follow all established policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety practices and personnel policies.
• Participate in and support association events and fundraising activities.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Secure required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position.
• Treat all residents, staff, and visitors with dignity and respect.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• High School degree or GED preferred.
Experience:
• 6 months experience as a Resident Monitor at Y-Haven preferred.

Certification(s) and Requirements:
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire.
• Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant license or two years related work experience.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:
• Demonstrated sound judgment when seeking additional supervision.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and to complete online data reports.
• Familiarity with drug and alcohol addiction and 12-step recovery programs.
• Ability to read, write and understand written instructions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks successfully.
• Must be able to model the key attributes: Welcoming, Genuine, Hopeful, Nurturing, and Determined.
• Must show commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics.
• Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is expected to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include a frequent amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy. May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather.
