Under general direction of the Trauma Program Leadership, supports injured patients and their needs throughout the Continuum of Care and supports Trauma Program initiatives within the Integris Health Trauma Program.


Minimum Qualifications:


Education: 


Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Master’s Preferred. 


Or


Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Master’s Preferred.


Or


Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred.


 


Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in Continuum of Care, public health, counseling and/or motivational interviewing experience preferred OR 3 years’ experience working in a healthcare or public health setting. 


 


Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Basic Life Support to be obtained within 60 days of hire.  RN applicants  - Current Oklahoma Licensure with the State Board of Nurses. 


 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 


Knowledge or principles and practices of the trauma continuum of care. Ability to work effectively in a team. Also requires the ability to work on a variety of projects at the same time requiring skill at multi-tasking. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Work cooperatively, tactfully and assertively with medical providers and others impacting trauma care.

  • Has working knowledge of the American College of Surgeons and Oklahoma State Department of Health Trauma Care standards

  • Collaborates with the Trauma Program Leadership and other departments to establish trauma patient needs across the continuum of care. 

  • Develops and updates trauma continuum of care resources for trauma patients and families. 

  • Promotes teamwork and positive relationships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Develops and maintains trauma patient resource material. 

  • Continually researches trauma continuum of care advances and opportunities and shares information with the Trauma Program and entire Trauma service line at IHBMC. 

  • Participates in trauma research related to the continuum of care.

  • Completes audits as assigned by the Trauma Program Manager.

  • Assists in the coordination of trauma patient follow-up as related to continuum of care (i.e. Spleen vaccinations, IVC filters, etc.) as assigned by the Trauma Program Manager. 

  • Assists in injury prevention, outreach, education and performance improvement activities as assigned by the Trauma Program Manager. 

  • Maintains records related to any area needed for ACS trauma verification.

  • Participates in Trauma Operations Committee, Trauma M&M, and Trauma Process Improvement and Patient Safety meetings.
