About the role
This senior leader will drive our go-to-market strategy with technology partners, focused on hero use cases that either remove friction or create incremental value for our shared customers. They will develop and manage a portfolio of strategic partners, including current partners like PayPal and Intuit. They will also build and lead a team of partner development and partner management professionals. This position can be located in either the San Francisco Bay Area or Austin, Texas. 10% travel is required for meetings, conferences, etc.

The Partnerships team drives revenue growth and accelerates product innovation via strategic partnerships and ecosystem development. We uphold a strong say:do ratio and invest in sustainable relationships that stand the test of time.
What will you be doing?
- Strategy Development: Devise and execute a cohesive technology partner strategy that drives customer acquisition and revenue growth.
- New Business Development: Identify “big rock” opportunities, source partners to bring those opportunities to life and negotiate first-in-kind agreements.
- Strategic Partner Management: Drive strategic alignment with our top partners, devise joint business plans, conduct quarterly business reviews and invest in continuous improvement and optimization.
- Ecosystem Development: Develop an engagement model for the broader ecosystem of unmanaged technology partners.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across product, engineering, marketing, sales, customer success, finance and legal to execute the best possible partnerships.
- Team Leadership: Recruit and manage a high-performing team, define its KPIs, operating model and cultural norms.
- Thought Leadership: Bring an informed point of view to internal debates, including topics unrelated to partnerships, serve as a trusted advisor to our top partners and bring or establish an industry reputation as a thought leader.
- C-level Engagement: Navigate the executive suite of our top partners with aplomb.
- Operational Rigor: Adopt a data-driven approach to the business, focused on leading indicators, and take intelligent risks based on the data.
What are we looking for?
- MBA or JD preferred
- 15+ years of business development experience
- Demonstrated experience leading large, complex partnerships in the eCommerce industry
