POSITION OVERVIEW

The Benefits Specialist will support the day-to-day administration, audits, and compliance of the Company’s health and welfare programs. This position will also assist with the Company’s leave and disability programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  1. Perform day-to-day benefits administration for the Health and Welfare Benefit plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D, EAP, COBRA, HIPAA, and miscellaneous voluntary insurances) including enrollment and communications.
  2. Support coordination between the Company and third-party brokers and benefits providers.
  3. Support the Company’s Wellness program.
  4. Assist with coordination of open enrollment periods, educate Members about available benefits, and assist with enrollment processes.
  5. Assist with developing communication materials such as brochures, presentations, and online resources to ensure Members understand their benefits packages.
  6. Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
  7. Provide guidance and assistance to Members regarding benefit options, eligibility requirements, and claims procedures.
  8. Address employee inquiries and resolve benefit-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Assist with collecting and analyzing data related to benefit utilization, costs, and Member satisfaction.
  10. Prepare regular reports for management, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance the overall effectiveness of benefit programs.
  11. Assist with the administration of Member leave programs, including FMLA, parental time off, and ADA accommodations.
  12. Assist with ensuring compliance with relevant laws and Company policies, and provide guidance to employees on leave eligibility and procedures.
  13. Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Three (3) years of experience in compensation, benefits, and leave administration, and/or Human Resources positions for a large-scale luxury resort/casino.
  3. Strong knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefit programs.
  4. Knowledge of HRIS systems as it relates to total rewards administration.
  5. Strong customer service skills.
  6. Ability to process confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  7. Experience working with salary benchmarking tools.
  8. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  9. Proficient in project management skills, systems development life cycle, and implementing packaged solutions.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  11. Strong skills in project leadership, communications, partnering, and driving results.
  12. Proven knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  13. Ability to simultaneously manage several projects.
  14. Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams.
  15. Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high-quality service levels.
  16. Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and skill set, considering a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal equity and market data alignment.

SALARY

$24 per hour - $26 per hour
