What the Job Involves - Manning the showroom - First contact with customers on the phone and in the showroom - Control of projects from first contact, quotation, scheduling jobs, purchasing, invoicing - Showroom small sales, managing stock for the showroom and workshop - Bookkeeping – entering purchase bills, co-ordinating supplier payments, raising customer invoices, credit control. Future tasks may include reconciliation and VAT returns. Essential Skills / Experience Bookkeeping on a computer-based system (experience with Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, etc.) Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel Good communication skills Driving license with car Non-smoker Desirable Skills/Experience Customer liaison Sales experience Marine industry experience Project management Working Hours Our preferred option is a part-time role 3-4 days a week from 9:30 am to 3 pm. However, there is flexibility in hours, with options for Part Time, Flexi Time, or Full Time for the right person. A full-time role would be from 9 am to 5 pm. Summary DME is a small, friendly, successful marine electronics business with a great reputation. This is a newly created role reflecting the growth of our business since relocating to our showroom at Noss on Dart Marina. You will be a key member of our small team of 4 people. The core tasks are bookkeeping (experience essential), project admin, and customer liaison by phone and in person in our showroom. There is scope to take on more responsibilities and make the role your own. Our location is at Noss on Dart Marina, which is a modern flagship marina offering a high-quality working environment in the beautiful setting of the River Dart. About Devon Marine Electronics Ltd DME is a small privately owned business providing the supply, installation, and support of marine electrical and electronic systems to leisure and small commercial vessels. Most of our work is located on the River Dart and South Devon, with some customers in North and East Devon as well as Plymouth. We are a leading supplier of major brands and hold exclusive dealer and installer status for some of these brands. Our premises comprise a showroom (one of the best marine electronics showrooms in the South West) and a workshop/store to the rear. There is access at the back of the unit to the busy Noss on Dart.
