One of the most interesting and hopefully impactful entrants into the recruiting space over the past couple of years has been Glassdoor. Their site allows employees to post opinions about their current and past employers. Because Glassdoor requires users to post both positive and negative opinions, the postings are balanced and readers are able to get a pretty good idea of what it is really like to work for a particular employer.
Glassdoor just released its Employees' Choice Awards for Top 50 Best Places to Work. According to Glassdoor, the "Best Places to Work list is based on the employee sentiment of their respective employers from throughout the past year. With all the economic ups and downs, employee opinion of a company is becoming an increasingly important and valuable barometer of how well a company treats its workforce during good times -- or in more troubling times like we've seen most recently."
